Opening Reception: Friday, April 4, 2026, 6 to 8 pm
You are invited to the opening of CONTINUUM, a solo presentation of sculpture and drawing that carries on from my "Entanglements" series.
This work moves from the immersive to the intimate and back again. My biomorphic, abstracted sculpture and drawing reference our interconnectedness in the face of division.
I am visually and conceptually inspired by strong tangible tree systems, mycelium networks, and biologic structures that find ways to connect and survive despite difficult conditions. This joins with the complicated, less tangible interpersonal relationships and sociopolitical tensions we face within the systems and structures in which we live, to further inform my art.
I build curvilinear sculpture and then draw intertwined graphite lines on the surface. This develops energy that seems to emanate from within and radiate outward, forming works that feel both alien and organic. I extract the palpable vibration from the surface of my sculptures to create my individual works on paper.
The improvisational nature of my process demonstrates how individual parts connect to become a whole, experiencing the continuum of connection that can grow and lead to entanglement. This work suggests the elaborate networks that define our complex world and invites contemplation and reflection upon the part we play in it.
